Since 1996 I have been mountain biking and working on the internet. I am based in the UK and France which lets me cover both aspects of my life.
Mountain biking
I started mountain biking in 1996 and first ventured into the mountains in 1997. Since then I have been visiting or living in the French Alps every year. I raced downhill marathons from 1999 to 2001 and was sponsored by Fox Racing. I have raced the Megavalanche 4 times, finishing twice.
I ran two mountain bike websites, Chainsmoke from 1996 to 2002 and Two Ride from 2004 to 2009. I have ridden, raced and written about cross country, all mountain, freeride and downhill mountain biking.
I have ridden trails in England, Wales, Scotland, Andorra, France, Switzerland and Italy and am always on the lookout for the sweetest, longest, technical singletrack descent, that might be the holey trail.
Web work
I learnt HTML back in 1995 and started designing websites soon after. My first site was Chainsmoke.com and from then on I worked for a series of companies including GG.com in the dot com boom years. I went freelance in 2008.
I have worked on a lot of websites notably for Jamie Oliver, 2degrees, Yamaha and Ian Poulter. I work on the front end design and development of sites. I am always available for any interesting projects. I have also developed some WordPress themes that can be downloaded for free.
This site has been developed in HTML5 and CSS3 and has a iPhone friendly version.
